The Buck Wild Saloon is located in New Iberia LA. It sits on the Frontage Road running north and south, on the EAST side of Hwy 90 (I-49) between Avery Island Road (Hwy 329) and Lewis Street. It is attached to the Southland Inn. The Southland Inn has a big sign easily seen from the interstate (Hwy 90).
Coming up from Houma, Morgan City, etc..., take the Hwy 329, or Avery Island exit to your right. At the end of the off ramp, you'll stop at hwy 329. Take a right, and a couple of hundred yards you'll immediately turn right again onto the frontage road. Head back south, and the Buck Wild Saloon is on your left, next to the hotel.
There is no exit for the Avery Island Road (Hwy 329) if your coming south out of Lafayette. Some preferr to take the Hwy 14 exit for New Iberia. They get off the interstate (Hwy 90) on their right. At the end of the off ramp is a red light and they turn left onto Hwy 14 and go under the overpass headed to New Iberia. There is another red light on the other side of the overpass. Heading in an easterly direction, Avery Island Road is at the 2nd red light if you don't count the two on either side of the overpass, and will be tying into Hwy 14 on the right side near some railroad tracks. There will be a sign on Hwy 14 just before the intersection saying "Avery Island." Take a right on Avery Island Road, and head back west, back towards where Avery Island Road goes under the interstate (Hwy 90). Just before the underpass is the frontage road on the left. Turning left onto the frontage road, The Buck Wild Saloon, again, will be on the left attached to the Southland Inn.
As the Buck Wild Saloon sits on a frontage road next to Hwy 90, there are a lot of ways to get there. Some find my way a little more difficult. I drove south down I-49 (hwy 90) out of Lafayette and got off on the right at the Port of Iberia, Lewis Street Exit. There's a red light at the end of the off ramp, and I turned left and went back under the interstate to the second red light on the other side of the overpass. The first red light is at the onramp to get back on the interstate. It's the second light. What confuses some people is that ideally, this should be the frontage road, but it's not. It's Weeks Island Road. The frontage road "dog legs" away from the hwy and turns into Weeks Island Road near the little bridge a few feet from the red light. I turned left at the light. I immediately crossed over the little bridge and took my very first left, which is just over the bridge. THAT'S the beginning of the frontage road, and heads straight at the interstate until it hooks to the right. I drove back north, towards Lafayette and running parallel to the interstate until I reached the Southland Inn hotel on my right. The Buck Wild Saloon is in the same parking lot as the hotel. The map below is marked for the way I go. The next intersection (white square box) to the immediate left of the one marked is the Avery Island, Hwy 329 exit that only has an offramp coming from the south, or Morgan City way. The second intersection to the left of the one marked is the Hwy 14 exit coming from Lafayette.
